While reading the play, The Crucible by Arthur Miller we will focus on the idea of mass hysteria in our culture throughout history. We will also analyze Miller's use of characters, plot, and theme to get his point across about the McCarthy Trials.

We will begin the play by watching clips of the Salem Witch Trials and the McCarthy Trials.


We also will read the poem "Half-Hanged Mary" by Margaret Atwood.

At the end of the play we will discuss and work on a glogster tha represents hysteria in our society past and present.
